During the recent British trampoline, tumbling and DMT championships held in Birmingham, local coach Melanie Stewart Wills was recognised for her amazing coaching contribution to the sport.
The Master coach award is presented to a coach who has guided a gymnast to two World Championships. Melanie has surpassed this by guiding one gymnast Kim Beattie to 4 Worlds and gymnast Ava Fettes to 3.
On receiving the award Melanie had this to say:
I was very proud and honoured to receive this award today. I received it yes, but I really owe this to 2 very special people in my life, my mentor (and love) John Wills and the most amazing gymnast Kim Beattie, and to the wonderful coaching team at Banchory Trampoline Club. Thank you
