Competing in the under 56kg senior female sparring division she became European Champion achieving her 5th European Title for Scotland. She currently holds the under 56kg World Champion title – all at the age of 24! Katrina’s dedication to improve performance comes from her passion for the sport itself. Taekwondo-do is more than just a sport, but it is the core of who Katrina is, supporting the endless hours she puts into ensuring she continues to perform at the top level. Preparation is challenging with an increase in high intensity physical training, managing weight and working full time to compete in a fully self-funded sport. Katrina epitomises what a true athlete and role model is. Someone the community knows, respects and values. Delivering workshops, she inspires all – adults improving wellbeing or children aiming to be champion. Katrina is humble and modest, welcoming and friendly. She is the first person you turn to for advice and support – or will help before you know it’s needed. All of this whilst balancing full-time employment where she uses sport and activity to change the lives of care experienced children.
