Jack came into the sport only a few years ago and instantly offered his help to coaching groups. Jack has an uncommon empathy and patience for human beings, being especially considerate of those needing extra support whether child, adult or athlete. Jack always smiles and has a gentleness despite his athletic build.
Jack is in his third year helping with our Junior Development Squad for 6–14-year-olds which runs 8 sessions Jan-April, he has progressed to undertake his Level 1 coaching award and the para-Nordic coaching qualification and now takes his own sub group within the programme. Jack has also taken on the ski centres’ After School Programme every week since the spring, sometimes cycling the 12 miles home after teaching 5-12 years olds in late afternoon and early evening! Jack will step in and help whenever called upon e.g., providing an extra on snow adult session. Jack fits all this in between college work and his own cross country skiing training – Jack is a Scottish and GB cross country ski athlete and has just placed 2nd in the British Championships in Germany. Jack trains with not only the Cross Country Team but the Biathlon Team too.
